suburbs and shacks

This is my previous artwork or should i say painting.We(at wits) were given a project in which we had to do drawings and paintings focusing on suburbs as a subject.I did not know what to paint at first but as time went by ,I started to get visions of the colours that I wanted to use ,before I knew it i was already working on the painting it self.I wanted to portray the suburbs the way they are(beautiful) and at the same give my painting a sense of abstract feel.I wanted to give people a chance to ask themselves one question:which is will the meaning of the word suburbs still be the same if they were shacks to be built in the suburbs .By the way this painting is a gift to my mum who I love so much
